Defence is the best offence

by Nick on Jun.22, 2009, under The Truth

After reading plans from strategist on the olden days, I have to concur that “Defence is the best offence” is the best strategy to win in any occasion (at least most of them you will stand a better opportunity to win).

In debates or arguments, this statement fits perfectly for the situation. While some people may think that the converse – Offence is the best defence may be useful, but it will only further widen the rift of losing. For instance, you could pin point your opponent with all your valid points, provided most of your facts are true, your opponent can just seize one of your points with flaws and turn it into his offence, it may be trivial and fearless since you’re able to provide answer to the counter-question, but do you realize that the burden and point of view (of third party) has already shifted to you? Despite your long breathtaking sentences, if you were to made a small mistake in answering the questions where your opponent made from your points, your blade will be facing backwards towards you, rendering all your facts worthless.

An offence made by other’s offence can be impenetrable. When someone started an offence towards you, from his first sentence, you can keep himself breaking his coconut head by converting and salvaging his points and make them his questions instead.

This statement is applicable even if you’re on a losing side. The “offence” will keep himself busy by answering to his own pressure points. This is equal to one destroying himself by his own intentions.

Example:

Dumbo: Hey why did you steal my pen?
Nick: Did I?
Dumbo: If not, why am I even bothered to question you.
Nick: Because I did not do it, why me? (Here, I made some unnecessary offence, but the burden has shifted to Dumbo)
Dumbo: Because I saw you blablablablabla.
Nick: Me? How can you assure that’s me?
Dumbo: Because I saw you blablablablabla.
Nick: You should get your eyes fixed, you can’t even differentiate someone else with me.

At this point, he will need some time to piss on himself and then get himself pissed again when he rekindle the argument. Have you noticed that I did not make any offence instead of keeping myself in a defence position? By that he doesn’t even has a slight chance of shifting the burden on me.

Words to say

by Nick on Jun.11, 2009, under My Life

I’ve been a “The Star” newspaper fanatic since months ago, the section I like the most is the opinion and view part where I will read every article. To spill out my thoughts, I wrote one and submitted to them, hopefully it will be accepted and then published.

It’s about why making life dreadful :

Title: Why make life dreadful?

It’s obvious that a big community is not practicable to have zero-dispute, and hence being another Malaysian inhaling the same oxygen as other Malaysians do, I truly understand the woes that Malaysians are suffering. The point here is why complicate trivial matters while it’s not even worth spending time to be wasted? Corruption cases do happen, but I see a slew of racism and discriminating comments spit out from people’s mouth as well as questioning the efficiency of Police almost everyday. I say, why get furious and risked being battered by sensitive people when the words went into their ears? Or shall I say is our own matters not enough to be pressured to death already? Just let the authorities to handle things. Rome was not built in one day, and it’s also not possible to be destroyed in one day, I’m sure every clutter will be eradicated one day, without the unnecessary insults and complaints.

El Nino has struck Malaysia, and this issue is raised and worried by the “warmhearted” Malaysians. Apart being “warmhearted”, the tenderness did not halt the open burning activity within the vicinity of my beloved town, PJ and instead it can be seen more often than usual. They are worried of their health, and in other way trying to pose a threat to their health. Is it really necessary? Are Malaysians trying to take advantage of the government until we ended up like Singapore, to prove that where we are really a bunch of people who needed to be controlled and stalled like animals?

Every views are not meant to be retorted and vindicated to justify it, instead it’s merely a point of view like our fingerprints, where it’s diverse like us, Malaysians. You have a different point of view towards something doesn’t mean that someone else doesn’t has one against you.

I’m trying to say that it’s no fault to pitch up an issue, but if it’s something to be solved by time, then we should let it be. Come on, life is already short enough to be enjoyed, you don’t have to make it worse. World Peace!

I’m broken in despair and depressed, sir

by Nick on Jun.08, 2009, under Confession

Friends, what are they for?

I fell in love, and I got fooled every time in love.

I care for friends, and I got pranked and fooled. Fuck, is friends really that important? I never get tired from placate, console, and advice my friends and yet I got played again and again.

I share my secrets; I entrusted my friends. And I never get to salvage back one of my friends who held my secrets.

I have given out too much care and love for friends, and I have received twice the torment. What I thought friends are the foundation of my life, I thought wrong. Even my so called “true friend”, had got to by back and bludgeoned me to death without a question of mercy.

There was once I unleashed my inner anger and got irate, I thought of avenging every single fault the so called “friends” have done to me, but then again those hypocrite made a sudden facelift and placate me. Sir, I am not born to be dominated, I am kind but not a fool.

Paintball

by Nick on Jun.01, 2009, under My Life

Yesterday was really an astonishing day as I had my chance to have a try on paintball. The day certainly made long especially with the time it took me to travel through public transport.

I reached the Putra LRT station (Kelana Jaya) at about 10:30am then had a ride to Masjid Jamek. Then I bought the ticket to Sri Petaling (The place where Park Leng picked me up) and SMSed Park Leng immediately that I was “on the way” to Sri Petaling. At first I thought it was like a few stops away, but when I looked at the railway chart, I realized that the destined station was located at the end of the railway and I left my jaw slightly open.

I alighted at Chan Sow Lin station to take another train because the one I was boarding was heading to ampang (After Chan Sow Lin the track will diverge into two path, which one heading to Ampang and another one to Sri Petaling). I did make some conversation before that to make myself crystal clear on where the hell am I going (well it’s not supposed to be so complicated but somehow it’s still my first time, so bear with it! :D ).

station

Ding Dong, Ding Dang, Ding Dong….. now I’ve reached Sri Petaling :D

Park Leng was with his Atos when I recognized his face upon leaving the station. We went for a breakfast straight away. While having my breakfast I saw his friends and had a chat with them, among the conversation I did ask about the feeling of being shot, you do not want to know what kind of answer I heard.

Park Leng drove (three in his car; he, me, and Nicholas) to Subang Jaya’s but it was closed ( ON EVERY MONDAY! PFFFT). By the way the place was quite near to Taylors, or I should say it’s after the SJMC. And hence, we went back to the Bukit Jalil stadium(the place where I was alighted, and also somewhere near Park’s Leng house) and there is another place to have paintball game at there.

We reached there at 1:30pm and we were told to “be seated” until 2:30pm because the staff was about to go for lunch, and we waited. Time passes fast when there are presence of friends, it was true; We were given briefing at about 2:30pm, and there we go!

Paintball Field 1

Paintball Field 2

The resting zone in the intervals of rounds.

The resting zone in the intervals of rounds.

We were provided with a mask, vest, marker (the gun), bullets, and a field (duh!). We played “capture the flag”, which is that players have to shoot down two god-dammed heavy bottles located at the opposite team and then they will be permitted to grab two flags (one at once) back to their starting point to win.

The marker is seriously heavy especially if you hold it with one hand (when your another hand is occupied with the mask), it drains all your energy when you’re running and lift it up to target your opponents.

We played like five rounds, in the last round they told us to use a secret passage (which is meant for competition purpose) to get behind another team, and we did. They got surprised and being shot by the distraught Park Leng, and me as well. It was tired but I could have several rounds more if there is.

The marker is hard to use though, when you tilt your marker by a little, the pallet’s direction will be a whole lot distinct! Moreover the wind is also essential to help your pallets to reach your opponent, it’s a game of skill and experience, with a little stupidity. Hahahahahha
